Mohiri is a sand-covered planet in the Merdinian system in the Nemesis Galaxy. It's native inhabitants are the Sadari, who to this day still populate the planet and thrive in the harsh and dry environment.Sadari are descendants of a species that has been extinct for centuries. Drachons were a primal predator on a lot of dry, hot and dusty planets, and Sadari still show some resemblance of their ancestors. They can breathe smoke, and some even have four arms or scales.

Broken into stardust pieces,
once belonged among the stars.
Your feet buried in the warm bronze dust,
the planet's whispers in the breeze
Stardust child,
now, you once more belong

The Nemesis Galaxy

The Sadari live on the planet Mohiri, which is part of one of the several thousand solar systems in the galaxy Nemesis-72.The star-system neighbors the Milkyway and the Andromeda Galaxy, and contact between the three is pretty active. It takes around 3 months to travel with the Oriental Galactic Transportation System (OGTS).Sadari's are a rare sight to be see on Orientals or Colonials, or anywhere outside of Mohiri, as they mostly stay on the planet or within the solar system.

Mohiri

Mohiri is one of several planets in the Meridian stystem, being closer to the sun than the others. It's surface is covered in many layers of sand, the gentle winds creating dunes and even sandstone mountains. The vegetation is sparse on the planet, as the climate is too harsh for most organisms. Most plants are found on the North Pole of the planet where it is considerably cooler, which allows plants to thrive better.

Environment

Plant Index | Creature Index

Mohiri is a sandy planet, circling a little closer to it's sun then regular planets, any outsider probably not daring to set foot in the open desert. The sun is scorching hot during the day, and at night temperature can reach below freezing point. There is one single river that runs from the North down towards the South, thinning out in a delta somewhere around the Southern Hemisphere, where the ruins of Jekka lie.

The geography of the planet is pretty mild and flat. Sand dunes come and go with the winds and occasional storms and even rain. If you travel South long enough you will encounter some sandstone mountains, worn down by the course winds and eons of storms passing them.

The sand has a variety of structures and colorations, ranging from pale yellow to rusty red. This is because of the different types of minerals being exposed to the elements as a result of dunes being blown away through generations. The redder sand is usually a bit more coarse and heavier, as the paler sand tends to be very fine and light, nearly like dust. Derthian Almanacs speak about red sand only being blown away by stronger winds, indicating an upcoming storm. It is only the pale sand that has illuminant abilities when in contact with Mohiri's rains.

Weather

The weather on Mohiri is pretty boring when it comes to variety. Days are hot, nights are cold. It rains only occasionally, and snow doesn't exist. Storms are a little more frequent, but hurricanes usually come and go like the rain does.

However, Mohiri's skies are never really clear of clouds. It is usually covered in a pale and bright blankets of clouds during the day. Skies are rarely blue, and if they re it means a heavy storm is coming. During the cold nights the clouds disappear and you can see the stars, and sometimes even the disk of the Nemesis-72 galaxy.

The vegetation and organisms on the planet do not depend on the rain, usually seeking oasis's or the delta near Jekka. When it rains, its usually a gloomy and dark time, dark acidic clouds gather across the sky. The rain is not deadly but long exposure to it can cause irritated skin, rash and even burn wounds. Rainy moments usually only last a couple hours, maybe a day but not longer then that. During a hurricane or seasonal typhoon, the rain is more acidic and dangerous.

The chemical composition of the rain reacts with the bioluminescent abilities of the finer sand, and the results are faint glowing dunes, adding a green sheen to the gloomy day. The sand will hold this glow until the sun dries it up, vaporizing the water the small sand particles held in-between them. It usually leaves a dew behind, and sometimes even a mist of the vaporizing water.
